Natural Façade
Earth Home: Rammed Earth Walls
In this project, I had the opportunity to apply the rammed earth technique in an innovative way: cladding a concrete wall using a double-wall system. The result is a fusion of ecology and contemporary architecture, creating a balance between aesthetics, thermal comfort, and acoustic efficiency.
Challenges and Solutions
One of the main challenges was integrating the rammed earth with the existing concrete structure, ensuring adhesion, stability, and a rustic finish. To achieve this, we developed a specific construction system, exploring new ways to connect both materials. Additionally, since it was an exposed façade, we conducted durability tests and material analysis, resulting in a resistant finish that maintains the natural aesthetics of the earth.
Innovation and Sustainability
This project was a milestone in my journey, demonstrating how traditional techniques can be adapted to contemporary architectural solutions, expanding the possibilities of sustainable construction. The process combined research, experimentation, and technical precision, ensuring an efficient and high-quality execution.
